Feening for Fur

It would be quite the understatement to announce it is cold outside. Especially in the northeast [[Even though I consider New York City, it's own entity- there's nothing like it.]] And so begins the discussion on fur. I can't lie I've been craving a yummy (faux) fur for a while and have yet to find my prince charming. But whilst searching the internet, i found quite a few options [[faux and not eww]]

Don't get me wrong, I love a basic whether it be a neutral or black but I must hand it to Julia from Gal Meets Glam for her bold vest in brilliant blue. This pop of color against her otherwise colorless outfit makes a huge statement, and I would love to find something in a rich jewel toned color to do the same.

4 , 5, 6

These three options are right up my alley, in warm neutral colors that are easy to mix and match with any outfit whether it be all black everything, a printed tee, or a patterned frock. One word, love!

7 , 8, 9

I'm also loving the longer furs and shaggy looks, they are definitely worth splurging for. I like them in these three combos alike, and still manage to add a little something extra to an otherwise basic look.

Neutrals & Mint

My personal style is heavily saturated with neutrals and basics. One might even call it quintessential Chantel. Just trademarked [[not really.]]

Fortunately for me, I have a ridiculous amount of clothes, so it was easy to center my outfit around my favorite (ok, maybe one of many favorite) pair of shoes. They are platforms and wedges and a pretty BASIC mint color. Tie up like tennis shoes, so on trend minus the whole tennis shoe part.

To offset the overly dull colors I was wearing, I partnered the outfit with some bling bling. Enter chunky necklace, chunky bracelet and clutch. Oh I love when friends score me cute little clutches at sample houses (circa 2008.)

Paris Fashion Week?

A  month has past and the seasons have changed, welcome fall. You are welcome! I thought it only appropriate to rate my top 5 from Paris Fashion Week due to the loss in time and lack of posts. Ready, Set, Go:

 Paul & Joe

One word, love. Between the bright geometric prints and fresh stripes, it's clear this Parisian designer had a clear understanding of Spring.  These colorful touches with the cooling effects of white and turquoise made for a fun yet sophisticated collection.

 Tom Ford

Very easily and very wearable, I wish i could own this entire collection. Heavily influenced by yummy neutrals, the small pops of color and mixing of textures made this collection my number two pic. Come on look at how easy it would be to throw on a open stitch knit maxi skirt and cozy knit cut & sew sweater.

Valentin Yudashkin

All business with hints of sex; Yudashkin really played to the natural curves of the feminine physique.  Most silhouettes were framed in white, but the bold pops of red, navy, and snakeskin make for a sexy yet reserved collection. 

Paco Rabanne

Costume designer gone runway, Rabanne combined my favorite elements into one cohesive collection. Game of Thrones, (think Khaleesi) meets Xena Warrior Princess meets a day in South Beach Miami.Noticeably random, the quirkiness of the silhouettes, textile mixing, and low neck lines makes this an absolute fave of yours truly.

Jean-Charles De Castelbajac
By far the least cohesive collection; to put in lamest term dark meets light in this springy-fall collection. If a collection could show the transition of the seasons, Castelbajac would take the gold. Luckily I love every little bit of it. from the layered blacks and leathers to the dripping paint spot prints, it all somehow works. Side note see the placed mirror image pants, that's a huge trend this season, should you be bold enough to take heed.

Otherwise keep it simple like me and add a statement with mismatched clothing and bold jewelry. With that ends my trivial recap of Paris slash Spain slash somewheres fashion week, I'm now rambling...

Fall Essentials

Rummaging around my closet [by closet i mean the ridiculous amount of clothes i have in chests of drawers] I thought it only right to exhibit my fall essentials:

If I could I would totes wear all of these together but frankly I'd look like a hot hippie mess [who knows this may be okay if i wander the likes of Williamsburg, kidding except not really, i love W-Burg.

I absolutely adore my Spirit Hood even if it doesn't see the light of day, I think it's just too pretty to wear anywhere except an invite only SpritHood party, you know BYO-SH. Ill keep this party on the hush for now. Alternately the Brandy Melville bag is my go to purse; its a small and compact crossbody that only holds my essentials- which saves me from carrying a lot of useless stuff day-to-day. My Jeffrey Campbell's are my absolute fav- my goal is to collect one pair every season until I have the ultimate collection. They are super comfy, slightly outrageous and I get compliments on the reg. <--- [From boys too. Go figure.]

All i know is it's time for a clothes swap, or renovation of my current collection of clothing. Any volunteers to buy me new clothes? [Only kidding, not really.]
