Fashion Week

The city is booming with fashion during the Mercedes Benz S/S 2011 Fashion Week.

Here are some of my faves:

Rebecca Minkoff (1,2)
Sweet and Soft would describe this less than ordinary runway. The models stood around the runway, giving the audience a 360 view. You asked for a show, you got one; loosely draped chiffons and jersey knits were paired with suede, tweeds, and suiting fabrics. Simple, bold, chic.

Diane von Furstenberg (3,4)
No surprise with here, the collection is full of bright prints paired with beautiful drapery. What would DVF be without such bold statements in print and color? All of which seems minimal to the cowl necks, jodhpurs, and exaggerated floor length peg skirts.

ADAM (5,6)
A soft palette with POPS of color to boot. The boxy and boyfriend-y shapes screams 70's glamour style. Seemingly simple, this collection is very bold in it's pairing of light silks and cotton voile's paired with leather and colored denim.

Erin Fetherston (7,8)
Soft neutral tones flooded her runway with slight hints of chartreuse and pale peach. Soft, tailored, and angular yet simple pieces. Very subdued, yet very powerful looks - perfect pieces for the girl on the go in this city full of lights.

Only a small portion of what this seasons fashion week had to offer, more to come...
