Beauty 101

Last week, my lovely roommate and I had the opportunity to attend a party for the release of Andrea Pomerantz Lustig's new book, How To Look Expensive: A Beauty Editors Secrets to Getting Gorgeous Without Breaking the Bank. The event was held last Tuesday evening at the lovely SPACE.NK apothecary in Soho.

I was amazed alone by the space. SPACE. NK apothecary is home to the luxury beauty queens skincare, makeup, fragrance, home & body, and haircare needs. I must admit I haven't always been that in tune with my own beauty needs, a fine line of eyeliner and mascara usually sufficed. But as my roommate happens to be a makeup artist (Special effects included: her lovely website,) naturally I've upped my game. 

Onwards to the event, author and beauty maven, Andrea Pomerantz Lustig, was in full attendance; mingling with guests, giving expert advice, and answering questions about the book. She also read an inspirational passage from the book.

Along with the book release, champagne was flowing served with light treats as guests wandered around the space for manicures, skin consultations, fragrance advisories and makeovers. Including the likes of  Laura Mercier,  Jin Soon, Stila, and Diptyque. [[Sorry if I forgot anyone!]]

Did I mention she got to speak with the lovely Mrs. Lustig? Well she did.

Although not my forte per se, I can say I truly enjoyed the evening, and it was a great networking event. Not to mention I got some great tips from my makeup artist from Laura Mercier. Needless to say, we both left with tons of new goodies, and might I say I'm loving my new bronzer!
