Holiday Away

After months of slight deliberation, my family decided to go on a mini vacay away from the [extended] family. Makes Christmas all the more special- of overcrowding and annoying one another .

For a country that's a mere 3 (or so) hours from NY, it just took about all day to get there. Luckily our layover was in Miami, where the people were friendly and the food was delicious.

Anyway, this adventure starts on the northern portion of the Dominican Republic, Puerto Plata. Where I thought the mountains were volcanoes {but really they were just really large hills.}

We went on a little adventure with my new best friend Paloma, the pathetic looking horse, that was anything but. I certainly wouldn't say that I am a connoisseur of the whole horse back riding situation, but I have a better feel of what it's like riding along the country side. Although completely beautiful with the backdrop of hills and plenty of farmland [cows and chickens included], it was horrifying with my stubborn out of control horse. I love you P!

We obvi went to go to the various beaches along the island {{granted it was areas within the resort.}} Although overcast, it was nice not dealing with the New York chill.

Best part ... We found Walmart, ok Wall*Mart but nonetheless a super cute boutique right on the beach!!

Last but not least, one outfit post. Why? Because vacations mean dressing like a slob and relaxing, and I'm a huge fan of both!

Dress: Bar III
Shoes: Dolce Vita
Clutch: American Apparel

Goodbye resort, with beautiful views from our deck. I miss you so already!

  1. Love the "Walmart" store in the background.

    1. I know, I thought it was so clever too!

  2. I love these! And "Wall-Mart" is hilarious!
