MBFW Swim 2013

So the heat wave has finally subsided and I can finally enjoy what little is left in this New York Summer. Thank God, there is finally something to celebrate: semi starved models whose bodies I totally envy and the most beautifully constructed swimwear to date. [[ I am in due part grateful to my Instagram feed for reminding me of this glorious season!!]] Welcome Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami.

Mara Hoffman

Raise your glasses to the obvious numero uno, Mara Hoffman. Talk about some maj prints! Tribal galore with perfect combinations of high waisted pieces, band aids to the extreme, cut outs and flowy goddess numbers. I must say, shes never done me wrong.

Maaji

Flashback to early 1980's roller disco, (I may only be an 80's baby, but i think I was a hip toddler.) I love how randomly eclectic these looks were styled- platforms for days, bow ties, accessories galore, and the occasional collar. This collection definitely proved to be a twist to the runway, and by far the most wearable in a day and age thats frequently changing in trending.

Indah

By far the most random collection, but that's probably why i appreciate it. All the models are absolute bombshells, donning looks that don't remotely go with one another. Ditzy florals, leather onesies, snake skins, and a tribute to Daisy Dukes- what more could a girl ask for.

Aqua Di Lara

Hints of bollywood laced with tribal prints, make for this Indian inspired collection. Beautifully draped silks and vibrant patterns strutted the runway in one of the most eclectic collections this season. Not to mention the adorbs call to childhood via messy pig tails.

AguaClara

One word perfectly describes this collection, sex. It is awfully evident that the one-piece is returning in a major way, but it's the little details that makes this capsule truly amazing. Shower me in glitter and bedazzle the sh*t out of some trim, and you've got a winner.

A. Che Swimwear

Neons on Neons on Neons stacks on stacks on stacks ... Beautiful and simple silhouettes frame the body with strategically placed cut outs and peek-a-boo coverage. These pieces make me want to go on an exotic vacation full of rolling on the sand and seductive sports illustrated type photo shoots.
